What it means to live intentionally
When I first started thinking about living intentionally, I was intimidated. It seemed that every zero waste, ethical, sustainable (you name it) blogger had "it" all together. I did not know where to start. I did not know how to start. Consequently, I ignored my gut for a long time and just kept doing the same thing I always did - not worrying about the effect I was having on the environment.
But then I read this:
I thought to myself, "What does this even mean?" And then I carried on with my day. However, this quote kept coming back up for me. After much thought, I realized it really is not that difficult to understand. I need to live with purpose. I need to think about what I am doing and why I am doing it. Not that hard.
I was avoiding making the switch to eco-friendly living because living out of habit was easier than living out of intent. That is it. But that is not enough - which is why I created this blog. We are the caretakers of this planet. We cannot ignore the impact we have, whether negative or positive. Personally, I want to be a part of the latter group. And, I am assuming, because you are here, you do too.
Living intentionally does not have to be overwhelming. You do not need to be perfect, and you do not have to change to a #zerowaste lifestyle. But you do need to think more about where your products are going and what kind of effect you are having on the people, animals, and world around you.
Join me on this journey to a more intentional life. I do not have it all together, nor do I think I ever will. But I am willing to try and that has got to count for something.
